  • Description: The Chaplaincy serves both the members of Law Enforcement and their families, and works through Law Enforcement to act as victims advocates to the citizens of Placer County.The Mission of the Placer Law Enforcement Chaplaincy is To provide spiritual, emotional, and mental support to the Law Enforcement Community, their families, and the citizens of Placer County.Our Mission is achieved through: Providing expertise in counseling on issues unique to law enforcement personnel Specialization in trauma and crisis intervention The conducting of crisis counseling in the field Demonstrating excellence in delivering care and comfort to both law enforcement and the communityPCLEC responds to a range of incidents including homicides, suspicious deaths, suicides, SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), kidnappings, traffic fatalities, domestic violence, school tragedies, search and rescue, hazmat incidents, industrial accidents, and child and elder abuse situations, to name a few.When deployed, a Chaplain will arrive on scene typically within twenty minutes of being called.Reactive Responses: Crisis Response: Emergency call outs are handled on a 24 hour / 7 day a week basis.Death Notifications: We respond to agencies to help notify citizens of Placer County of deaths in their families.Counseling Services: For Law enforcement officers and their families (job, marriage, family, stress) and to citizens of Placer County with short term, (usually crisis) counseling.Critical Incident Response: For horrific crime scenes, trauma, natural disasters, and other such emergency call outs.Critical Incident Stress Debriefings: To all first responders Follow up: To homes or hospitals to visit sick or injured officers or their families. We also respond to schools and / or businesses after a tragic death.Proactive Response: Ride A longs: With on duty patrol officers and deputies.Visitations: To agencies for all employees, sworn and non-sworn, dispatch and support employees.Weddings: Including pre-marital counseling Participation: In Community task forces and committees; community events and fundraisers; preventive measures such as 'Every 15 Minute' programs to curb teen drunk driving.
